OPEN FHC BOARD OF DIRECTORS POSITION

The Fraternity Housing Corporation (FHC) Board seeks candidates for open positions on the Board of Directors. The term is for two years, beginning August 1, 2025.

Board membership offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Alpha Gamma Delta and make positive impacts on the lives of our members. The FHC Board oversee the performance and sets the strategy for the Fraternity Housing Corporation and operates as a separate oversight organization in the Alpha Gamma Delta enterprise.

The FHC Board oversees the performance of the FHC and sets the strategy and direction for the FHC. The FHC is charged to elevate the experience of Alpha Gamma Delta members through spaces that promote community, learning, and growth. With a not-for-profit model focused on ownership and high-net rental relationships the FHC manages a portfolio valued in excess of fifty million dollars.

Through its owned property management company, the FHC handles staffing needs, food service, cleaning, utilities, leasing, and day-to-day management of chapter facilities. The FHC Board of Directors casts the vision, sets the standards and monitors the performance of the corporation, professionally led by our Chief Executive Officer.

To facilitate effective decision-making and strategic planning, the board seeks a wide variety of backgrounds and experience, which may include asset management, commercial real estate, corporate finance, banking, law, strategic planning, marketing and outreach, construction, property management, entrepreneurship, non-profit management or higher education. Broad Fraternity experience is also helpful.  Prior experience on a corporate or not-for-profit board is desired.

Of note, the FHC Board, like International Council and the Foundation Board, governs using the Carver Policy Governance Model. Experience with or a willingness to learn and practice Policy Governance, as defined by John Carver in Boards That Make a Difference, is required.
